Our Team
Alex Wasyl
Co-Founder & CEO
Alex has over a decade of experience founding and building businesses across various industries in both the private and public sectors, including serving as interim CEO of a pharmaceutical company. His main business, Elevated International, and his advisory roles on multiple boards have allowed him to connect with many veteran colleagues. Seeing unmet needs among veterans inspired him to co-found Heroes United. Alex and his wife reside primarily in northwest Wyoming, near Yellowstone National Park, in a county with the highest per capita percentage of U.S. veterans.
Steve Wood
Co-Founder & VP of Strategy
Steve was raised in northwest Wyoming and, after graduating high school, felt called to serve in the military. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served during Operation Gallant Eagle, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. After returning home, he spent 26 years in the telecommunications industry and served a federal agency when called upon. Driven by a desire to help fellow veterans heal after their service, he went on to co-found Heroes United.
Zach Gordon
Co-Founder & CFO
Zach has been a CPA for over 15 years, bringing expertise in public accounting, founding startups, and serving as CFO and advisor across various industries. He has served on multiple nonprofit boards and volunteered with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and NYSCPA. His grandfather, an Army veteran and dedicated VA volunteer, shared stories of his service that inspired Zach to engage more deeply with the veteran community. Committed to making a positive impact, Zach co-founded Heroes United to support veterans' unique needs. He lives in Westchester County, NY, with his wife, son, and two dogs.
